Life Is A Road Trip

The Amazing Adventures of a Zoobroker and a Sentiographer

Delicious was dinner

I was fortunate to be the recipient of a home-cooked meal by Zoobroker today. That dude can cook. Seriously. Ribeye salad with roasted garlic broccoli, hard-boiled eggs, bacon from hell, and spinach/romaine mix.

Happy 4th of July, everyone!

Night Frisbee in Denver

So we're kind mostly settled in here in Denver down at the riverfront. Today we bought a frisbee at REI that has blue LEDs. This image is eight minutes of vigorous tossing about. (pant, pant...) I like the B/W infrared version most (Via DxO's Film Pack 3, Kodak HIE setting tweaked a bit):

I feel like I am in an episode of Bleach. Like.

And here is the color version, that has a beauty of its own - 8x 2-minutes exposures stacked in Ps:

Night Shots: Salt Lake City 2012

After Zoo and I drank appropriate amounts of bourbon, I headed out solo to get some long exposures. I made HDRs, stacks and just plain long exposures. Mixed bag of tricks - errr... techniques. Not bad for a few hours' work, I think. And getting star trails within city limits is near-unheard of! Proud.

Rules of The Road Trip: Salt Lake City Edition (Bourbon House)

Salt Lake City may not be the new Austin, but we did find a nice whiskey bar across the street from my hotel -- the Bourbon House. Rule #71: If you get drunk in Kansas and are let your friend's dad tattoo you, don't complain when your Fleur-de-Lys looks like a turtle.

Tur tle Lys

Rule #204: If you are a fan of American soccer, don't smile so much.  Your team sucks.  Doubly so for Real Salt Lake fans.

Rule #143:  If you sit within earshot, are a brunette with glasses, do not be surprised when the brown man gets fresh.

Rule #782:  If you're in Salt Lake City on a Saturday, you should probably check out Bourbon House.

Indeed the road is open again

Duckface. There. I did it. Now that we got that out of the way, I promise you will never see it again. This is an act of irony. From JFK to SFO, then rubber met the road and now I sit in Reno, ready for another journey.

This time around it's in pursuit of art. One month of art.

Stay tuned for productivity on steroids. We aim to create.
